Pride month is expected to boost Thailand's economy and tourism in the second quarter of this year.
In Thailand, there are more than six million members of the LGBTQIA+ community, who are expected to generate over 150 billion baht annually, or a 0.3% increase in GDP.
Thai Rainbow Tourism is also seeing a boost after the nation passed its marriage equality act in January of this year.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has now estimated LGBTQIA+ tourists' revenue to reach US$2 billion (65.59 billion baht) per year.
TAT also hosted the Amazing Thailand Out There event in February of this year to help promote Thailand as a top destination for rainbow tourism, which featured a travel trade meet, an influencer showcase, and a cultural night celebrating the community.
Globally, the LGBTQIA+ travel market is estimated to be worth approximately AU$553 billion by 2025.

One company staying ahead of this economic and tourism curve is Central Pattana, who recently launched Thailand’s Pride Celebration 2025: “Pride For All,” which will see Central shopping centres across Thailand turned into spaces for inclusivity and equality throughout the month of June.
The event will take place across 39 shopping centres nationwide, an increase from 24 last year, including Pride parades at 19 of them.
Additionally there will be dedicated equality spaces where couples can register their marriages at five Central branches, shows from popular artists, discussion forums, Pride markets, and mini-concerts.
“Central Pattana views Pride Month as more than just a celebration of equality — it is about Freedom, Human Rights, and unlimited gender inclusivity. These are fundamental values that everyone deserves," said Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer of Central Pattana.
“Central shopping centers nationwide proudly serve as open, inclusive spaces where everyone can freely express their identity. Pride Month is also a powerful cultural festival that drives tourism and economic growth. Central Pattana has become Thailand’s No.1 Pride Landmark, consistently creating massive nationwide impact, doubling the scale of events every year…with over 1.3 million participants expected nationwide.”
