Tourists worldwide are expected to prioritise culinary experiences, beach relaxation, and cultural exploration in 2025, according to a TrovaTrip survey of 286,800 travellers.
Italy, Greece, and Bali are projected to be tourists’ top global destinations in 2025. All three also featured in TrovaTrip’s top destinations last year.
“Travel is about more than just the places you visit — it’s about the connections you make along the way,” said TrovaTrip chief customer officer Lauren Schneider. “Creators and Community Leaders are redefining how we travel by bringing their online communities together for shared experiences.”
Travellers in the United States are emphasising nature tourism, choosing locales like Alaska and Yellowstone National Park as well as New York City. Nature & Wildlife and Outdoor Adventure placed fourth and fifth on TrovaTrip’s overall top travel experiences.
The company’s top emerging travel trends this year include solo travel and noctourism, or nighttime tourism experiences.
The median travel budget for 2025 is US$2,000, with the average rising to $2,955.
One quarter of respondents said they would spend more than US$3,000, similar to the previous year. In 2023, 24% were willing to spend over $3,000, with 41% of respondents choosing budgets from $1,500 to $3,000.
A large majority of survey respondents were Millennials and Generation Z, making up 43% and 41% respectively. These age brackets voiced interest in exploration and community during travel.
Women represented 77% of respondents, though the percentage of men rose from 19% to 21% compared to the previous year.
