Big W has swept Australia’s Big Star bash retail awards, taking the top spot from Bunnings Warehouse as number one retailer.
Australia’s Top 100 Online Retailers award is part of Power Retail’s rolling Top 500 Online Retailer Rankings, covering both pureplay and omnichannel retailers in Australia’s e-commerce sector.
Bunnings had won the award the previous two years, while Big W managed up from their fourth spot result last year.
It also beat out strong competition, including Kmart, to claim the Top Department Store Retailer category.
Kmart had won the award for the 2024 and 2023 but still took home the Top User Experience this year.
In fashion and beauty, Country Road was named the Top Fashion & Accessories Retailer, THE ICONIC for Top Australian Marketplace and Online Only Retailer, Dangerfield claimed Top Mobile Experience, and Adorn Cosmetics and Adore Beauty won Top Customer Experience and Top Beauty Retailer respectively.
Luxury Escapes nabbed the award for Top Email Marketing and the Top Travel Retailer Award for the second year running, while Qantas Marketplace won Most Improved Online Performance.
Celebrating these awards, Power Retail hosted the 10th annual All Star Bash at Crown Melbourne, with comedian Tom Gleeson hosting the event and 650 industry leaders in attendance.
“With a record number of entries to the All Star Bash in 2024, there was more competition than ever across all the awards,” said Grant Arnott, CEO and founder at Power Retail.
“It's amazing to look back now at 10 years of the All Star Bash as a reflection of digital retail's trajectory, through boom times and tough times, and see the incredible impact the Top 100 businesses have had on the economy.”
Woolworths Group Ltd (ASX: WOW) owns Big W, and its share price at 4:11 pm AEDT was $28.49, with a market capitlaisation of $34.8 billion.
