Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has signed on Comedian, author and actor Rachel Dratch to join the brand’s first-ever “Women-Only Cruise,” departing on 24 August this year.
Best known for her iconic roles with NBC’s Saturday Night Live, Dratch will deliver a 45-minute comedy performance and host a Q&A session onboard the S.S. Catherine as the ship sails through Burgundy and Provence.
As reported in Luxury Travel Advisor, the female-exclusive cruise provides guests with a one-of-a-kind itinerary offering a blend of cultural excursions and onboard entertainment as it sails through Burgundy and Provence in France.
Guests can explore the country’s picturesque villages, enjoy a candlelight concert in Lyon, visit the International Shoe Museum and witness a light show at the ancient Roman aqueduct in Nîmes.
Activities like lavender weaving, truffle hunting, and scenic bike rides to Chartreuse add to the experience, while onboard highlights include chocolate and wine pairings, burlesque sessions, and a pyjama party.
Dratch, an SNL cast member from 1999 to 2006, is renowned for her memorable characters, including her iconic "Debbie Downer" - a term which has now made its way into the official Merriam-Webster dictionary just three days ago.

Her career spans television, film, and Broadway, where she recently earned a Tony nomination for her role in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive. Dratch’s participation promises to make this cruise a unique and entertaining journey for all attendees.
SNL recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as a TV show.
