A Costco member has dropped nearly US$300,000 on a 150-day cruise through the Costco club program.
With individual memberships starting at A$65 per year, the club program offers access to a range of deals on everything from gold bullion to bulk toilet paper, and include travel options in the form of vacation packages, car rentals, cruises, hotels, and flights.
The company revealed its largest member booking in the last year was a cruise around the world, with CFO Gary Millerchip confirming the package cost US$293,000 (A$470,845) for two travellers and also included, shipboard credit of $13,000 and a $25,000 Costco shop card.
For that price, the cruise offered a stay for two people in the luxurious Owner’s Suite cabin and a 150-day journey kicking off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and stopping in places such as the Galapagos Islands and Easter Island.
