Google’s artificial intelligence arm has partnered with Agile Robots, as Google steps up its efforts in the robotics sector.
Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics AI models will be integrated into Agile Robots’ hardware. The companies said the partnership will first focus on equipping robots for industrial and manufacturing tasks.
“The huge opportunity ahead lies in autonomous, intelligent production systems that can transform entire industries. Integrating Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics models into our robotic solutions positions us at the cutting edge of this rapidly growing market,” said Agile Robots CEO Zhaopeng Chen.
The partnership “will bring cutting-edge AI into real-world robotic systems and enable adaptable, reasoning robots for industrial environments”, according to Agile Robots and Google.
The companies did not disclose the deal’s financial terms. Agile Robots’ products largely include robots with industrial functions, like its Agile ONE humanoid robot.
Google unveiled its Gemini Robotics and Gemini Robotics-ER AI models in March 2025. These are based on its Gemini 2.0 AI models.
The company said at the time that it had partnered with robotics developer Apptronik, and Google said in January that it would team with Hyundai’s Boston Dynamics to build AI models for its humanoid Atlas robot.
Shares in Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) closed 3.3% lower at US$289.20, but rose 0.9% in after-hours trading. Its market capitalisation is $3.50 trillion.
