AMD has revealed its open AI ecosystem vision, showcasing new hardware and software solutions for enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) performance and efficiency.
AMD's AI Ecosystem Vision
AMD introduced an integrated AI platform at the Advancing AI 2025 event. The platform includes AMD Instinct™ MI350 Series accelerators and the ROCm™ software ecosystem.
Chair and CEO Dr Lisa Su emphasised the importance of open standards and collaboration in driving AI innovation.
“AMD is driving AI innovation at an unprecedented pace, highlighted by the launch of our AMD Instinct MI350 series accelerators, advances in our next generation AMD ‘Helios’ rack-scale solutions, and growing momentum for our ROCm open software stack,” said Dr. Su.
“We are entering the next phase of AI, driven by open standards, shared innovation and AMD’s expanding leadership across a broad ecosystem of hardware and software partners who are collaborating to define the future of AI.”

AMD Instinct MI350 Series
The MI350 Series GPUs deliver a 4x increase in AI compute and a 35x leap in inferencing. MI355X offers 40% more tokens-per-dollar than competitors. The series exceeded AMD's five-year energy efficiency goal by achieving a 38x improvement.
Next-Generation AI Infrastructure
AMD previewed the "Helios" AI rack, expected to deliver up to 10x more performance with MI400 Series GPUs. The new infrastructure aims to reduce the number of racks needed for AI model training by over 276-fold by 2030.
ROCm Software Stack
ROCm 7 enhances support for generative AI and high-performance computing workloads. The updated software improves the developer experience with new tools, APIs, and libraries.
Partner Ecosystem
Major companies like Meta, OpenAI, and Microsoft are utilising AMD's Instinct accelerators for AI workloads. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is adopting AMD's open rack-scale AI infrastructure for scalable AI clusters. Collaborations with companies like Red Hat and Marvell are enhancing AI processing capabilities across hybrid cloud environments.
Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ: AMD) stock price was $118.37, down 13 cents in after-hours trading. It has a market cap of around $192.14 billion.
