Bulgari and watch manufacturer MB&F have produced a new edition of Bulgari’s Serpenti watch for their second collaboration, the first ever Serpenti for men.
Bulgari originally released the Serpenti in 1948 as a high-end women’s watch.
“The idea was to have the most incredible piece of mechanical art,” said Bulgari’s director of watchmaking creations Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani.
“Reimagining this universal symbol of eternal rebirth and bold metamorphosis into a Horological Machine required a complete redevelopment of this iconic watch not only in terms of mechanical engineering and movement conception, but also in terms of case design and manufacturing,” according to Bulgari.
The watch features moving eye-shaped sections with revolving hour and minute displays. These displays are made of aluminium and Super-LumiNova, and glow in the dark.
The Serpenti is available in rose gold, titanium, and black PVD-coated titanium, all with sapphire crystal faces.
Just 33 watches are for sale in each colourway, with six to eight being produced each month.
Bulgari and MB&F first collaborated in 2021 to produce the LM FlyingT Allegra, an upgraded limited edition version of MB&F’s Legacy Machine FlyingT women’s watch.
Bulgari is a subsidiary of LVMH. LVMH’s share price (EPA: MC) closed at EU€685.30, up from its previous close at €684.20. Its market capitalisation is €348.6 billion.
