Applications for the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives are now open until 15 April, 2025.
This will mark the second edition of the watch prize which celebrates creative talent, savoir-faire and innovation while encouraging artisans and entrepreneurs to strive as future generations of watchmakers.
The competition is open worldwide and begins by selecting 20 semi-finalists to be assessed by watchmaking enthusiasts that comprise the Committee of Experts.
They then evaluate the watches, whittling down the competition to five finalists before finally determining the winner, who will be announced in February 2026.
Not only is the winner presented with a trophy at the award ceremony, they are also awarded a grant and one-year mentorship La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, tailored to their individual needs where a dedicated team will help them hone both their creative and commercial skills.
Potential candidates will need to independently design their timepiece or horological creation, that has been protected under a registered company and Quartz mechanisms will not be accepted.
The inaugural edition of the prize saw more than 1,000 submissions from artisans across 15 countries, with the prize ultimately being awarded to Swiss watchmaker Raúl Pagès for his RP1 - Régulateur à Détente timepiece.
Each candidate may only apply one creation throughout the competition and candidates who applied for the first edition are welcome to enter again with a new submission.
