The motor racing series Formula 1: Drive to Survive will be available on Netflix and Apple TV under a new partnership between Netflix and Apple.
The eighth series will be available on Netflix around the world and Apple TV in the United States only, the two companies announced on Thursday (Friday AEDT).
Season eight will begin streaming around the world on Friday.
Last October, Apple and Formula 1 (F1) announced a five-year partnership under which Apple TV will become the exclusive U.S. broadcaster of F1 in the United States, taking over from Walt Disney's ESPN for the 24 rounds of this season.
“…as part of this collaboration, Netflix is also bringing the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix live to viewers in the U.S. from May 22-24, giving Drive to Survive fans a chance to see the rivalries they’ve watched for years play out in real-time,” Netflix said in an article.
The F1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne over the weekend of 7-8 March.
Fans in the U.S. can watch the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix live on Netflix from 22-24 May.
The popularity of F1 in the U.S. surged after the COVID-19 pandemic due to the scarcity of sporting events amid worldwide lockdowns.
"We look at F1 and Apple TV as a true partnership where we're going to amplify this sport across all our Apple services," Apple's Senior Vice-President of Services Eddy Cue was quoted as saying in this Reuters article.
