United States equity futures traded slightly lower on Thursday night (Friday AEST) as investors turned their attention to Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's upcoming address at the central bank's annual Jackson Hole symposium.
By 10:20 am AEST (12:20 am GMT), Dow futures were flat, S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 future had fallen 0.1% apiece.
In extended trading, Gap shares jumped 13.3% after the clothing retailer announced that Michael Francis would take over as CEO of Old Navy from 2 November. He will succeed Haio Barbeito, who has led the brand since 2022.
Gap also reported adjusted earnings per share of 52 cents, ahead of the 48 cents expected, while revenue came in at $3.65 billion, below the $3.69 billion forecast.
U.S. stocks advanced on Thursday, led by an 8.7% surge in Nvidia following the chipmaker's latest results.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.2%, the S&P 500 gained 0.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite lifted 1.6%.
Investors are now awaiting Warsh's scheduled speech in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Although the address is not part of a formal monetary policy meeting, traders will be looking for clues about the Fed's interest-rate outlook.
Fed funds futures were pricing in about a 64.6% probability that the central bank will leave rates unchanged at its meeting next month, according to the CME Group FedWatch Tool.
