Russia launches hypersonic missile on Kyiv

Ukraine has been hit with a deadly hypersonic missile attack from Russia, the third of its kind since the war began. The attacks were carried out overnight, involving hundreds of drones and missiles, including the powerful hypersonic Oreshnik. Kyiv was the primary target, with water and electricity facilities hit, alongside residential buildings and a school, with the strikes also leaving the Chernobyl Museum “effectively destroyed”. At least four people have died and approximately 100 have been injured. “They are genuinely deranged,” said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram, after the attacks. “It is very important that our people are supporting one another. I am grateful to each and every person helping those affected. Continued support from our partners is no less important. I am grateful to everyone now expressing words of support,” he continued, confirming he had already spoken with other European leaders after the attack. “But concrete steps to bolster air defense are also needed – missile deliveries must not stop for a single day.”
