The Maextro S800 luxury sedan, a domestic rival for the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class, has officially launched in China.
This model marks Huawei's ambitious entry into the high-end automotive market, aiming to redefine luxury driving experiences.
It offers all-electric or range-extended powertrain options, 32 ADAS sensors, and a body length of 5480 mm.
Priced between A$213,000 and $319,000, the S800 will be available for purchase in China starting in May.
Maextro is a joint venture between Huawei and former Nio contract manufacturer JAC (Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group).
In this partnership, JAC handles chassis development and manufacturing, while Huawei supplies major components and oversees vehicle sales through its HIMA stores across China.
The S800 is Maextro's first model, featuring cutting-edge technologies such as the Huawei ADS road perception system and a digital platform called “Tuling Longxing”.
The Maextro S800 boasts impressive technical specifications, including a power output range of 358 kW to 958 kW, active suspension, and four-wheel steering.
It also features a unique crab walk mode and a comprehensive perception system with 32 sensors to enhance safety.
The EREV variant supports 6C charging, allowing its 65 kWh battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes.
