LDC Hotels & Resorts, a premier hospitality group and Taiwan Railway have unveiled a first-of-its-kind partnership redefining luxury wedding experiences with a price tag beginning at NT$600,000 (US$19,777) per reservation.
The collaboration is set to introduce what the companies claim to be the world’s first dedicated wedding train.
LDC Hotels & Resorts general manager Ting Yuan-wei said he noticed a pattern of contemporary couples increasingly seeking distinctive celebration formats at the announcement event.
Food on the trains will be prepared by chefs from Palaid de Chine, a Michelin-recognised luxury hotel, who create specialised menus fusing Taiwanese ingredients with international techniques, available in three configurations for up to 50 guests.
The hefty price tag includes a matrimonial excursion starting at Taipei’s Nangang Station, stopping for 2.5 hours at Hualien for professional photography opportunities and recreational activities. The railway experience lasts around 8.5 hours, creating what the company calls a “wedding journey in motion”.
