A seven-year-old coder has been offered a job by a Russian software company, but won’t be able to sign on till he is old enough for legal employment.
Sergey, from St Petersburg in Russia, described as “a coding Mozart", has been recording and uploading coding information and explainer videos for the last two years, since he was just five years old.
His YouTube channel has more than 3500 subscribers, where he teaches about programming languages Python and Unity, or neural networks, which are crucial to many artificial intelligence tools.
These videos caught the attention of information security firm Pro32, who have now sent him a written job offer to be the head of corporate training.
However, he will have to wait to enter the work force.
Under Russian law, Sergey will not be able to take up any paid role until he is at least 14 years old.
But Pro32's chief executive Igor Mandik said he had already spoken to Sergey's parents about finding ways to work together before he officially can join the company.
Mr Mandik said that once Sergey was on board coders, salesmen, accountants and more at Pro32 could learn from him.
"I'm absolutely sure that when he reaches 14, he'll be a guru of teaching and a guru of developing, and that is why we're really looking forward to this time," he said.
No set offer has been made for a salary as of yet, due to the change that the going rate will most likely see over the next seven years.
