Qantas has announced a major sale on return flights to some of Asia’s top tourist destinations, offering discounted fares to Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, and Bali. The sale includes travel dates from October 2024 through August 2025, with prices starting as low as $519 for economy class.
The sale features a total of 100,000 discounted seats and will run until midnight on Monday, or until all seats are sold. However, availability is limited to select dates within the 11-month travel window.
Travelers can book economy, premium economy, and business class seats, with notable deals including Perth to Singapore for $519 in economy, or using 22,300 Qantas points plus $296. Other highlights include Sydney to Bali return for $679, and Adelaide to Manila for $899. Premium economy fares begin at $2,799 for Sydney to Singapore return.
Qantas has been aggressive with sales as it strengthens its position in both the domestic and international markets. The recent collapse of budget airline Bonza has opened new opportunities for Qantas-owned Jetstar to expand its presence in the low-cost sector. Meanwhile, Rex Airlines has faced financial difficulties, including the closure of several domestic routes and the loss of over 600 jobs.
Qantas recently reported a 28% drop in net profit for the 2024 financial year, down to $1.25 billion.
