New Proptrack data has provided fresh insight into home values by federal electorate, ahead of the upcoming general election.
While property prices increased across most electorates since the 2022 election, there are dozens of seats where homes have become more affordable.
Of the 150 electorates, 25 recorded house price falls and 36 recorded unit price declines.
Labor holds 13 seats that recorded house price declines, while six are held by Liberal, one by the Greens and five by independents.
Across the nation, Labor held the most seats with home price declines but the most dramatic drops were largely independent or Liberal-held.
Melbourne was the location for the majority of these declines, specifically the inner and eastern suburbs.
The seat of Macnamara, which encompasses suburbs such as Albert Park and St Kilda, recorded the biggest drop in prices since the last election, with the median house price falling by $250,000.
The seat of Melbourne itself, held by Greens leader Adam Bandt, saw house prices dropped by 9%, or $145,000, and unit prices declined by 7%.
