MG Motors unveiled five new vehicles at the Melbourne Motor Show as the automaker celebrates 10 years in Australia.
All of the vehicles unveiled at the motor show, which started on 10 April and will continue until 12 April, were Hybrid and EV vehicles.
MG Motor Australia marketing director, Dimitri Andreatidis, said these vehicles are a reflection of the feedback the company received from customers.
“We’ve received great feedback from customers, partners and media alike, and you'll see this brought to life today through our vehicles, the result of understanding and delivering what Australians require from their vehicles,” he said in a presentation to the media.
“World events are a catalyst for rapid change, and the pressures of modern living are very real for many Australians, motivating new drivers from all walks of life to explore how best to match EV or hybrid to their family or lifestyle.”
This led to changes in the company’s MG4 EV Urban, which is designed for the streets.
“The MG4 Urban is actually a different package of features from what we previously had with our rear wheel drives, it's more street focused, has a lot more space and has tighter tone stampers,” head of PR events and sponsorships, Matthew Roberts, tells Azzet.
The MG4 EV Urban starts at A$31,990 drive away, making it one of the most affordable EVs on the market and is available in 43 and 54 kilowatt batteries.

The company also unveiled the MG4 EV, which they said is Australia’s best-selling electric hatchback.
The IM LS range line was also introduced as a standout from the other vehicles on display from the automaker.
The IM LS9 uses premium technology and features a driving range of more than 1,000km and a 24-degree bidirectional 4-wheel steering system that allows a vehicle that measures over 5 metres to have a turning circle of less than 5m.
“The LS range is the beginning of where we’re going next,” Roberts says.

MG first launched the IM line in Australia at last year's Melbourne Motor Show, where the automaker said it aims to be among the top five best-selling brands in Australia by the end of 2027.
Making its southern hemisphere debut, MG also unveiled the MGS6 EV.
It comes with both rear wheel drive and all wheel drive options.
The MGS6 EV is not yet on the market, and more will be announced on this vehicle later this year.
This vehicle was designed to compete with the top-selling Tesla Model Y.
For those looking for a ute, the team at MG unveiled the MGU9 EV.
It is equipped with a dual-motor AWD system, a high-capacity 102kWh LFP battery and multiple power outlets across the front and rear.
The ute was designed to be environmentally friendly and focus on driving efficiency.

MG has also created a solution for those who aren’t ready to go fully electric with the HS HYBRID Plus.
This hybrid vehicle was one of many showcased at the Melbourne Motor Show and aims to help families reduce fuel costs without reducing the way they run their cars.
It has a combined fuel efficiency of 5.2L/1000km and has a class-leading hybrid battery.
MG has also become a growing brand in Australia, with 300,000 vehicles on the road nationally.
