The Duchess of Sussex is set to return to television screens with the launch of her new Netflix show early next year.
Meghan Markle is also poised to finally launch her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, for which the show is a companion piece.
Netflix reports it to be about celebrating “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship”.
Despite being announced back in March, promotion for the American Riviera Orchard brand has been very limited, with a handful of celebrities and industry moguls receiving jam and gift baskets linked to the brand, but nothing since.
The brand has faced practical troubles, with The New York Post reporting that Markle’s legal team in November had asked the US Patent and Trademark Office for extra time to launch.
A three-month extension has been requested as she aims to secure a trademark for the yet-to-be released brand and if the deadline is missed, the application process will have to begin from scratch.
The extension request comes just one month after luxury food and gift retailer Harry & David claimed the brand's name was too similar to its “Royal Riviera” line of products.
