Qatar's Raf Laffan Industrial city is suffering “extensive damage” after an Iranian strike.
Ras Laffan, the largest LNG production facility in the world, was hit by missiles on Wednesday, amidst ongoing attacks across the Middle East and a worsening fuel crisis.
The state oil company QatarEnergy confirmed the attacks via social media, stating that while emergrency response teams had been deployed there were no reported casualities.
In a statement, the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that while it maintained the policy of staying out of the conflict, it would be forced to respond if Iran continued to attack.
“[This attack is] a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, and a direct threat to its national security and regional stability,” the statement read.
