“Health is wealth” has a new meaning at Continuum.
In Manhattan's Greenwich Village in the United States, a luxury club led by fitness tech entrepreneur Jeff Halevy is transforming the wellness industry with its use of technology and data to improve the health and wellbeing of those who can afford it.
The idea behind the club is to “change the wellness market as a whole,” he told New York Business Journal.
The team behind Continuum also includes former Lululemon marketing leader Tom Wingert, human performance scientist Dr Andy Galpin, and physical therapist and conditioning specialist Dr Charlie Weingroff.
The exclusive club opened in May 2024 and has a strict 250 person limit with a lengthy waitlist. Interested parties may apply for membership on the gym’s website and await an invitation to join.
The club has been described as paradise for elites and “biohackers” — people who use scientific methods to “hack” their body to improve or enhance it.
Wall Street financiers, athletes, celebrities and artists pay US$10,000 (A$15,995.01) a month for the club which uses AI software and biometric screening technology to take into account every measurable aspect of an individual’s physical wellbeing.
“What we’re building is more than a luxury wellness club,” said Halevy in a statement.
“Continuum is a totally integrated platform driven by the power of AI and individual biometrics, ensuring that health is both intentional and quantifiable.”
As a part of the onboarding process, members undergo a thorough intake assessment designed to best optimise the human experience.
This includes body composition scans, blood panels, and sleep analysis all supported by AI.
Continuum’s staff continue to track members' data as it is collected in real time by Oura tracking rings, which helps tailor wellness plans for exercise, sleep and diet guidelines as well as suggestions for recovery therapies and services available in the club.
These include a hyperbaric chamber, an IV-therapy station, an infrared bed, a float tank, massage therapists and saunas.
