Monaco will host the first World Yachting Summit (WYS) from 15-17 April 2025, at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.
This event is expected to position Monaco as a leading hub for yachting innovation and luxury. It will attract industry leaders, enthusiasts, and experts from around the world, boosting the local economy and tourism. Additionally, it is hoped the summit will enhance Monaco's reputation as a premier destination for maritime activities and high-profile events.
The summit will cover key topics such as sustainable yachting practices, advancements in yacht design and technology, and the future of maritime regulations. Attendees will also discuss the impact of digital transformation on the yachting industry and explore strategies for promoting environmental conservation within the sector.
During the event, top industry players and participants will gather to discuss major challenges related to the future of yachting and develop action plans. In addition to networking showrooms, social events, plenary conferences, and parallel sessions, four major themes will be covered: Business Perspectives — Changing Paradigms; Tourism & Yachting — Recipes for Success; Technological Advances — Net-Zero; Challenges Ahead — Reinventing Yachting.
The summit is expected to lead to increased collaboration among industry stakeholders, fostering innovative solutions to current challenges. It may also result in the development of new technologies and practices that promote sustainability and efficiency within the yachting sector. Furthermore, the summit could facilitate the establishment of new partnerships and business opportunities, driving growth and transformation in the global yachting industry.
The summit's aim is to provide a solid foundation for discussion, interaction, and inspiration for yachting worldwide. It focuses on business evolution, emerging markets and new destinations, as well as the adoption of technological solutions to enhance performance and cleanliness. This is in an ever-changing global nautical market.
There are already plans for the first two international editions of the World Yachting Summit, which will alternate between Monaco (April 2025) and Dubai (Spring 2026). You can see the full editorial agenda for the first two years here.
Alternating summit locations between Monaco and Dubai allows for broader engagement with diverse maritime markets and cultural perspectives. It enables the summit to tap into the unique strengths and opportunities each location offers while fostering international cooperation. This approach also helps attract a wider range of participants, enhancing the global impact and reach of the event.
"A key feature of WYS is the open nature of its program overseen by its editorial team. Participants are invited to submit proposals that can be incorporated into the program as keynotes, case studies or round tables," said Laurent Perignon, WYS Development & Content.
Two strategic partnership agreements with Monaco Marina Management (M3), a Monaco-based marina consulting services company, and OMNIYAT, a leading Dubai-based luxury real estate developer, have led to the launch of WYS in Monaco, which is known as the Capital of Advanced Yachting.
"OMNIYAT’s partnership with the World Yachting Summit reflects its commitment to connecting luxury living with innovation and environmental responsibility," said Madhi Amjad, Chairman of OMNIYAT.
A developer known for creating iconic, high-end spaces, OMNIYAT views yachting as a natural extension of its refined lifestyle. As part of this partnership, OMNIYAT demonstrates its commitment to balance luxury and responsibility, protecting the beauty of the oceans for future generations while continuing to create exceptional living experiences.
MGMI's mission is to help clients & authorities create or transform marinas into nautical lifestyle centers that combine performance, aesthetics, and sustainability, promoting yachting destinations in the local community.
M3 decided to support the World Yachting Summit following the success of the 4th Smart Marina Initiative.
José Marco Casellini, CEO of Monaco Marina Management said: "We are convinced that it is through exchanges and meetings that the ideas shaping the future of our industry will emerge. We all have a role to play, and by working together, sharing our knowledge and taking action, we can steer the industry in the right direction."
The World Yachting Summit is not just another yachting event; it is a strategic platform for companies that want to make a positive impact on the industry, grow, innovate, and succeed in the competitive yachting industry, as well as strengthen their market presence and visibility.
By networking at high levels, promoting internationally, participating in conferences, and sharing knowledge across industries, companies can gain considerable benefits.
New partnerships forged during the summit could lead to collaborative research and development initiatives that accelerate technological advancements in the yachting industry.
By combining resources and expertise, these alliances may also drive down costs, making sustainable practices more accessible to a broader range of companies.
Such partnerships could open up new markets and customer bases, ultimately contributing to the industry's long-term growth and resilience.
