The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are the latest handheld gaming devices announced by ASUS in collaboration with Microsoft.
These devices combine the power of Xbox with the versatility of Windows, offering gamers a seamless experience whether at home or on the go.
The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage, while the ROG Xbox Ally X boasts a more powerful AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage.
Both devices are designed to provide an immersive gaming experience with features like a 7-inch FHD IPS display, 120Hz refresh rate, and FreeSync support.
The ROG Xbox Ally X also includes a larger 80Wh battery for extended gaming sessions compared to the 60Wh battery in the ROG Xbox Ally.
These handhelds are optimised for Windows 11, ensuring easy navigation and access to games from various PC storefronts, including Xbox, Battle.net, and more.
The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are set to launch during the holiday season of 2025 in select markets, with additional markets to follow. Pricing details are yet to be confirmed, but based on previous models, the ROG Xbox Ally is expected to be around A$1,000, while the ROG Xbox Ally X could be priced at approximately A$1,400.
