Several people have died during the latest Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
The Ukrainian air force reported that Russia had launched more than 450 bomber drones and 45 missiles during the blitz attack, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated over 400 of them were subsequently shot down.
The attacks hit 25 locations across Ukraine, including a residential apartment building, which left 12 injured and 2 dead.
The capital city Kyiv was also hit, and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko wrote on Telegram that major energy facilities were damaged in the Poltava, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions, leaving residents without electricity or heating.
She also reported that critical infrastructure facilities had already been reconnected, and the water supply is being sustained with generators.
Ukraine now faces its fourth winter of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
“Russia continues its energy terror. This means only one thing — international pressure on the aggressor is still not enough. The world must act more decisively,” Svyrydenko said.
