Protective design specialists SAFE (Strategically Armored & Fortified Environments) have unveiled their latest project - Aerie.
Aerie promises to “blend protection and luxury” in world-class doomsday bunkers designed to keep residents safe from harm in the case of natural disasters, nuclear threats or any other major emergency.
Named after the resting place for birds of prey, the highly secure, bunkers built 200 feet below the ground will allow its elite members to purchase customisable residences for upwards of US$20 million (A$31.9 million)
Access to the bunker will also be protected by multi-layered biometric authentication for maximum security.
A number of luxury amenities will be available along with a team of staff, giving members access to AI-powered medical care, hyperbaric chambers, IV Therapy, wellness programs and facilities as well as gourmet dining experiences.
Interactive walls, ceilings, and lighting effects will also create the illusion of being above ground with space ranging from individual 2,000-square-foot suites to enormous 20,000-plus square-foot multi-level underground penthouses.
Al Corbi, Safe’s founder and president, said the inspiration for the project came from increasing the popularity of shelters or bunkers in the homes of the wealthy and elite.
However, they plan to offer a service which would offer members safety and security when they are far from home.
“We created Aerie to help vulnerable clients when they leave their fortified homes or yachts,” he said.
The network of luxury doomsday residencies will be spread across all 50 U.S. states with future plans for another 1000 locations around the world.
While the bunkers will take several years to build and open, the first ‘experience centre’ which will cost US$300 million to construct, will be available from summer 2026 where the wealthy may purchase their future bunker.
“We are creating sanctuaries and doomsday bunkers to prepare for the unthinkable,” said Corbi.
“Every defence is designed to protect your family. The future may be uncertain, but your safety will never be in these protected bunkers.”
