In 1974, a new course opened, designed by Sloan Morpeth and J.S. Watson, which utilised existing holes and new land acquired at either end of the original course. A further nine holes, some of them original, were set aside as an "inner-nine". In 1992-93, new sand-based greens, designed by Sir Bob Charles and John Darby, were built for the championship course.

The club`s long-held desire to build a world-class course, tee to green, led to the rebuilding of the championship Heretaunga course, designed by Greg Turner and Scott Macpherson and opened in 2013. It used existing corridors and new land opened up near the Awakairangi/Hutt River. Nine holes were set aside for what is known as the Terrace course.

Today, the Heretaunga course offers a challenging and stimulating game set in a picturesque location.

We have two golf courses spread over 27 holes with amazing practice facilities. The 18 hole Heretaunga Course which was redesigned in 2013, and a peaceful 9 hole course - the Terrace Course where you can develop your game.

The golfing needs of visitors and members alike are taken care of by our head professional and his team who book your tee time, organise shoes, clubs and carts for hire, and can even give you a lesson. The golf shop is open seven days a week.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is in a fenced-off area to the west of the club house. It has changing sheds, table and chairs, and a barbeque, and is open for use by members and visitors during the warmer months (typically October to March).
