Dovetail develops and integrates innovative electric powerplant technology onto legacy aircraft to enable environmentally friendly and financially viable travel. Our proprietary powertrain tech significantly reduces operational costs with zero emissions.
We are quickly bringing our battery-electric retrofits to market while advancing our hydrogen-electric prototype in Australia and Spain. Funds raised will prepare our first flight in early 2025 and advance certification for commercialisation.

We offer that with our electric propulsion system adapted for the most popular small passenger aircraft. When their engines need overhaul, we take the aircraft from customers and turn them into electric instead, by replacing the legacy systems with:
- High efficiency low noise proprietary electric propulsion
- Power electronics
- Advanced aviation battery system (also commercialized separately)
- Hydrogen fuel cells and storage systems for longer range

Unlike most competitors, we retrofit existing aircraft with advanced electric propulsion systems. This speeds up market entry, cuts costs, and reduces risk by using proven airframes, focusing on the disruptive part of the technology, electric propulsion.
Description
Our main revenue source is the retrofit of legacy aircraft in our industrial conversion centres, designed similarly to the Final Assembly Lines of new aircraft. Initially in Australia, and Spain to serve the EU.
We will be the first to certify a 100% electric Cessna Caravan, the most popular single engine aircraft under 20 seats.
Secondary revenue sources are:
- Replacement of battery systems and maintenance of our electric systems
- Sales of our battery modules to third parties
Our growth plans include conversion centres in the US, UAE and South America, independently or with partners.

To do this at Dovetail we have a plan to:
- Develop & Certify electric propulsion tech for commuter aircraft
- Prioritise time to market: focus on battery tech first
- Generate valuable IP (immersion batteries, low noise propulsion, aero thermal integration and H2)
- Become the leader in Australia ( 3rd largest fleet in the world) as an ideal entry market, and be 1st in continental Europe with our base in Spain. Then grow globally
- Develop hydrogen-electric systems to enable longer routes, introducing them when regulation is ready and we are well stablished as electric retrofitter
