Refreshing, Easy Drinking Lager
When you grow up on black and gold, you never forget those colours. And when you grow up in the area, you never truly leave.
It’s as refreshing as an empty train to the city in peak hour, and as crisp as The Kingsway in winter.
Drink West lager pairs perfectly with a fresh pair of TNs and tall stories about how your old man nearly played for Penrith.
Drink West is a refreshing lager with a clean and crisp finish.
Alcohol Content 4.5% ABV.
In late 2022, we'll be launching "Drink West Session", a mid-strength lager with a 3.5% ABV.
Business Model
Summary
Drink West has two revenue streams - Wholesale and Retail.
The new brewery will expand our revenue streams to also include brewery onsite sales and merchandise sales.
Description
The company commenced trading in 2019 and is currently selling direct to customers online, in bottle shops and on-tap in local restaurants in Western Sydney.
Sold in kegs, 6 packs & 24 can cartons.
Currently, Drink West is being produced in contract brewing facilities. However, the brewing facilities are not able to keep up with the demand and are limiting our capacity.
With our new brewery location secured and set to open at the end of 2022, we will be able to drastically increase capacity, reduce unit costs, claim tax incentives and have the ability to supply large national distributors.
Mission & Objectives
Mission
To become "The Beer From Out Here."
Our aim is to put the West on the map and provide a refreshing lager to its people.
Whether it's a Sunday sesh at the pub or celebrating a game-winning try, Drink West will be the cold refreshing beer of choice.
Business Objectives
- Build our $1.5M Drink West Brewery, which includes the installation of a $500K brewhouse. This will allow us to significantly increase our capacity to 1,000,000L/yr.
- Continue growing a brand that people love and expanding where Drink West is available. Our goal is to focus on securing keg supply contracts with pubs, bars and restaurants across Australia.
- Put the West on the map and go head to head with Australia's largest beer companies. We aren't going for the overhyped craft beer category, we are set on disrupting the contemporary lager category.
Industry
Summary
The Australian beer industry has a market size of $4.9b.
The contemporary beer category is a relatively new category in the last 10 years which fills a gap in the market between traditional beer and craft beer.
Description
Contemporary beer company, Great Northern Brewing, has become the most popular beer in the commercial beer category. Gaining 12% market share of the commercial beer sector, beating out traditional beers such as Toohey's New. (Market share of leading commercial beers in Australia in 2019, Statista)
Additionally, Independent beer originally represented 1% of the total market share in 2011, and has now grown to 7.98% market share in 2019. (Independent Brewery Association (IBA) 2019/2020 annual report)
