Weve done it before. Lets do it again.
At Indigo Power, we believe ordinary people working together can overcome extraordinary challenges. Were building a network of community batteries to share clean, locally generated energy and keep the lights on when it matters most.
Local communities should benefit from local energy, and were making it happen.
Community batteries are already installed in Yackandandah and Yarra Junction, with Wodonga coming next.
Backed by a $4.24M ARENA grant, were ready to deploy ten more batteries, from Tumbarumba to Warburton but first, we need to raise $1.5M for our co-contribution.
What this raise supports
This capital raise helps establish Indigo Powers clean-energy asset arm.
We will install:
680 kW of solar
5.8 MWh of lithium-iron-phosphate storage
Across ten emergency relief centres and key community sites
This expands our total battery fleet to over 7 MWh.
The battery portfolio will:
Trade in the National Electricity Market and frequency control markets
Provide backup power during outages
Share renewable energy with Indigo Power customers in local energy hubs
Business Model
Indigo Power delivers products and services that help communities generate and consume more local renewable energy.
We do this by:
Offering electricity retail services that enable energy sharing within communities
Building, owning, operating and maintaining clean energy infrastructure for local hubs
Managing clean energy projects that support clients sustainability goals
Our purpose is to create a society powered by 100% renewable energy, in a way that supports and empowers communities.
Strategic Vision
This raise enables:
Deployment of 10 new batteries, bringing our fleet over 7 MWh enough to match the 2024 net energy use of our 1700 retail customers
Launch of the next phase: a long-term asset management business
Expansion into new markets
Integration of shared battery assets into our energy-sharing platform
More flexibility in hedging our retail load
Industry Context
Indigo Power launched one of Australias first community batteries in 2021 and continues to lead in this growing space.
Community batteries are gaining momentum because:
They provide economies of scale beyond household batteries
Complement widespread household solar
Avoid costly electricity network upgrades
Provide reliable backup power in rural areas during outages
Offer grid services such as voltage and frequency stabilisation
