Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he has received no response from the United States on a rejected ceasefire proposal to Russia.
Over the weekend, the leader was critical of the silence, and said that Russia had not only rejected the full and unconditional ceasefire proposal put forward last month but had increased its aerial attacks, with an attack that killed two.
Zelenskyy pointed to "the number of Russian air attacks is increasing", as clear proof that "the pressure on Russia is still insufficient."
After talks with the U.S. from both sides, Ukraine has already agreed to a truce on the war that has been running for more than three years, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has refused to do so.
The Kremlin says its refusal is due to their questions on the deal not being answered.
However, there has only been crickets from the U.S. in the wake of "We are waiting for the United States to respond – so far there has been no response," said Zelenskyy.
The sentiment for a response and urgent ceasefire was echoed by other European leaders, with French President Emmanuel Macron taking to social media to show his support, and stating in no uncertain terms that Russia was continuing "to murder children and civilians,"
"A cease-fire is needed as soon as possible. And strong action if Russia continues to try to buy time and refuse peace," Macron said on X on Sunday.
