Zagame Automotive has announced an ambitious new partnership with German company Brabus at the Melbourne Motor Show.
Zagame’s general manager of Tullamarine operations, Andre Salliah, said the partnership evolved from buying the cars from Germany to building them here in Australia.
Salliah said this allows for a faster process, allowing more Australians to experience Brabus vehicles.
“It’s another brand offering that we can associate ourselves with for all our existing customers that drive supercars,” he told Azzet.
“We are now able to offer Australian customers the opportunity to experience Brabus’ world renowned vehicles, locally built and certified right here at Zagame auto body.”
Through the partnership, Selliah said they hope to build an average of one car a month in Australia and sell around 24 cars throughout the country throughout the year.

According to Salliah, due to the automotive industry changing with the rise of electric vehicles, now was the right time to finalise the partnership and make cars that stand out from the rest.
“There’s electric cars and all these things happening, but we’re going the opposite way,” he said.
“We are not built for economy or fuel efficiency, and we still have a market that wants those sorts of cars.”
The Zagame Brabus collaboration supercars differ from other vehicles as Selliah said they are designed for collectors.
“Ideally, you don’t want to be driving into car parks and things like that too much,” he said.
“It’s about extending the value of the brand.”
At the show, the Brabus unveiled the G800 range, marking some of the first cars to be built by Zagame in Melbourne.
The G800 range takes inspiration from the Rolls Royce Ghost and Mercedes Benz heritage.
