United States stock futures were little changed on Thursday night (Friday AEST) as investors took a breather following a record-setting session on Wall Street, with both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite on track for their third consecutive weekly gains.
By 10:10 am AEST (12:10 am GMT), Dow futures had edged up 0.03%, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures were each around 0.1% higher.
During Thursday's regular session, the S&P 500 rose 0.7% to a record closing high of 7,799.0. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.1%, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.8%.
With more than 90% of S&P 500 companies having reported their second-quarter results, earnings growth from a year earlier is tracking at 50.4%, according to FactSet's Earnings Insight.
There are no major corporate earnings reports scheduled for Friday, leaving investors focused on the latest U.S. economic data.
July retail sales figures are due later in the U.S. session, with economists expecting sales to have increased 0.1% from the previous month.
