Elon Musk has called for Nigel Farage to be replaced as leader of the Reform U.K. party, hitting back after Farage distanced himself from Musk's support for jailed far-right activist Tommy Robinson.
Farage has previously received public support from Musk and flew to Florida to meet the owner of social media site X, but his support for Robinson caused Farage to distance himself last week.
Over several years Farage has been publicly clear about not wanting Robinson in his political party.
Speaking at the Reform U.K.'s East Midlands conference in Leicester on Friday, Farage described Musk as a "remarkable new entrant" into American politics and was a "hero" for buying X, formerly known as Twitter.
"At least with Elon, we've got free speech back," he said.
He then moved on to say Musk had "a whole range of opinions, some of which I agree with very strongly, and others of which I am more reticent about".
In response, Musk took to X on Tuesday, writing that Reform U.K. "needs a new leader", marking a public end of support for Farage.
