United States President Donald Trump has accused Congressional Democrats of leaking classified intelligence related to recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, escalating political tensions in Washington.
In a Truth Social post and a Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo, Trump claimed Democrats were behind the disclosure of what he called the “PERFECT FLIGHT” path to Iran’s nuclear sites, calling for their prosecution.
“The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!” Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social.
The leak, which included a preliminary Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) assessment, suggested the strikes may have only modestly delayed Iran’s nuclear program — contradicting Trump’s assertion that the facilities were “obliterated”.
The leaked DIA report, shared with outlets including CNN and The New York Times, indicated that Iran may have moved enriched uranium from the Fordow site before the attack and that underground structures remained largely intact.
Trump and senior officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, have pushed back aggressively, citing new intelligence that purportedly confirms the destruction of key nuclear infrastructure.
Trump dismissed the uranium relocation claims as “fake news,” asserting that moving such material would have been “too dangerous and too heavy” to execute undetected.
“[The leak] could have been someone in the intelligence community, or it could have been someone on Capitol Hill who had access to this document. The FBI is searching for that person,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
