Perth Airport is set for a major A$5 billion upgrade, with plans released on Sunday.
The redeveloped airport will consolidate its terminals into one location. It will include a new parallel runway and two multi-storey parking areas, and will be complete by 2033.
“There will be no catching buses or shuttles or trains between terminals. You’ll have this really compact, well-designed airport,” said Perth Airport’s chief executive Jason Waters. “It’ll become easier because you’ll be in the right place all the time.”
Both international and domestic terminal facilities will expand.
Qantas flights will operate from the main terminals once their upgrades are completed in 2031, following the airport’s agreement with Qantas in May.
The airport will also feature a new onsite Pullman Hotel, in partnership with Accor. The Pullman Perth Airport will include 240 rooms, along with a rooftop restaurant, cafe, and co-working spaces.
The Pullman Perth Airport is scheduled to open in 2027.
“We anticipate strong interest and demand for Pullman Perth Airport from both business and leisure travellers alike,” said Accor Pacific PM&E Division COO Adrian Williams.
Perth Airport’s net profit after tax reached A$125.4 million in the 2024 financial year, up from the previous year’s $110.4 million.
The airport previously released plans for a $2.5 billion international terminal upgrade in 2019, though they did not proceed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
