The 2025 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), held from 22-25 May on Queensland’s Gold Coast, reaffirmed its reputation as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s top marine lifestyle events.
Drawing over 45,000 visitors and hosting 824 vessels, this year’s edition offered a spectacular fusion of elegance and marine adventure, with a record number of boats delivering an unsurpassed display of marine innovation, luxury and lifestyle.
From trailblazing catamarans to sleek performance yachts, SCIBS 2025 was more than a showcase of boats — it was a celebration of the boating lifestyle and the craftsmanship driving the industry forward.
TMG Yachts: Elevating the Multihull Experience
Sydney-based TMG Yachts turned heads with its expansive display of luxury multihulls, reflecting its deep connection with innovation and bluewater cruising.
Lagoon 38: A New Chapter for a Legendary Line
Making its Australian preview was the new Lagoon 38, a compact blue-water cruiser positioned as the new entry point into Lagoon’s multihull range. This model replaces the beloved Lagoon 380, which enjoyed a remarkable production run of over 1,000 hulls across two decades.
First unveiled in Bordeaux during Lagoon’s annual four-day owner and dealer event, the Lagoon 38 is scheduled to arrive in Australia by November.
Built in one of Lagoon’s three production facilities in France, it’s designed for aspiring liveaboards and adventurous couples. Touted as a “pocket blue-water cruiser”, the 38 is compact yet capable, bringing modernity and Lagoon’s trademark comfort to the smallest footprint yet.
Lagoon 43: Intelligent Innovation at Sea
Making its Asia-Pacific debut, the Lagoon 43 stole the show with its redefinition of space, comfort, and connectivity. Replacing the phenomenally successful Lagoon 42 - of which over 1,100 hulls have been sold globally - the 43 is packed with smart design elements aimed at private owners, who comprise 90% of TMG’s clientele.
Among the most notable updates is a recessed saloon door that enhances the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. A unique side access point eliminates the need for stern boarding, a feature rarely seen in catamarans of this size. This change not only improves access but also allows the cockpit to be repositioned further forward, increasing usable space.
The semi-flybridge is another standout, offering a commanding view while encouraging social interaction with the skipper. Inside, the forward-facing galley is positioned to take full advantage of panoramic views, while cabins boast up to four times the volume of their predecessor.
According to Lagoon Sales Manager Cosmas, “Today the way we are designing boats at Lagoon is just becoming smarter and smarter.”

Lagoon SIXTY 5: The Pocket Superyacht
Also on display was the Lagoon SIXTY 5, affectionately described as a “pocket superyacht”. This high-end multihull delivers the ideal blend of performance and palatial living, perfect for global voyaging or luxury coastal cruising. Its large open-plan interior, sweeping flybridge, and ergonomic helm design enable short-handed sailing without sacrificing sophistication.
TMG also highlighted Lagoon’s sustainability-led refit program under its NEO initiative. First introduced in 2004, NEO promotes the renovation of legacy models like the Lagoon 620, replacing engines, generators, and interiors to extend vessel lifespans and reduce environmental impact.
PRESTIGE M48: Redefining Power Catamarans
Another highlight at the TMG Yachts stand was the award-winning PRESTIGE M48 - a multihull motor yacht offering the space and stability of a 60-foot monohull within a 50-foot platform.
Honoured with the 2022 Design Innovation Award and the 2023 European Powerboat of the Year title, the M48 dazzles with its sleek lines, luxurious layout, and intuitive controls.
The vessel’s 360-degree glass saloon offers uninterrupted views, while its full-beam master suite and three guest cabins provide resort-style accommodation. An expansive flybridge and hydraulic swim platform complete the package, creating a vessel that seamlessly blends comfort, performance, and ease of use.

Riviera: Craftsmanship with a Coastal Spirit
Flying the flag for Australian boatbuilding excellence was Riviera, which launched its highly anticipated 4300 Sports Express at SCIBS 2025. Designed for offshore adventures and relaxed entertainment, the 4300 SE speaks to Riviera’s reputation for innovation and luxury.
4300 Sports Express: The Ultimate Day Boat
Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS diesels, the 4300 SE cruises comfortably in excess of 30 knots. Its design prioritises versatility, with a convertible boarding platform that morphs into a sea deck. It also has a sprawling cockpit complete with an alfresco BBQ, fold-down Smart TV, and sun protection.
The forward sun deck features a triple sun lounge alongside a forward-facing bench with a hidden dining table - perfect for sundowners on the water.
Below deck, a spacious stateroom, guest cabin, and contemporary galley ensure overnight trips are equally luxurious. With touchscreen navigation, CZONE switching, and Sentinel remote diagnostics, Riviera combines tradition with cutting-edge tech.

Sunseeker: Luxury at Speed
DCH Marine, the exclusive Sunseeker distributor for Australia, New Zealand, and Asia Pacific, has made waves with two high-performance additions to its portfolio: the Predator 75 and the Superhawk 55, both making their Australian debuts.
Predator 75: Where Power Meets Precision
The striking Predator 75 features a sculpted grey hull and gloss black hardtop, housing a disappearing patio door and a sweeping retractable sunroof. Below deck lies a full-beam owner’s suite and sumptuous guest cabins.
With twin MAN V12 1900hp engines, the Predator 75 can reach speeds up to 40 knots - making it as thrilling as it is luxurious.

Superhawk 55: Agile, Stylish, Versatile
Designed for high-speed coastal exploration, the Superhawk 55 features flexible deck furniture, pantograph-style side doors, and an elevated helm station.
Two ensuite cabins and large exterior sunpads make it ideal for weekenders, while the Seakeeper 6 gyro ensures unmatched stability.
Beyond the Boats: A Complete Lifestyle Showcase
SCIBS 2025 was about more than just vessels - it was a vibrant celebration of marine living. The electric Candela C-8 hydrofoiling boat and the hybrid-friendly Boat A Home drew plenty of interest from eco-conscious buyers.
Meanwhile, the 35-metre superyacht Pazienza made an imposing statement as one of the event’s biggest showstoppers.
Marine technology was also front and centre, with FLIR’s Ocean Scout Pro thermal monoculars giving guests a glimpse into the future of safety at sea.
Luxury hospitality plays a central role, with the exclusive Lagoon Beach Club offering Veuve Clicquot and gourmet platters to VIP attendees.
Meanwhile, partnerships with prestige car brands like Bentley have added to the upscale ambience.

A Landmark Event for Australia’s Boating Industry
