Saab has been brought into the fold of the Ghost Bat Australian Team to provide their TactiCall Communications Solution.
This will include user terminals, network, radio infrastructure, and equipment such as Electro Mechanical Actuators and Controllers for the Primary Flight Control System from Saab in Sweden.
Saab is the latest of more than 200 companies on the MQ-28 program, which is being co-developed by Boeing Australia and the Royal Australian Air Force.
Since its start in 2017, Boeing’s Australian MQ-28 program has progressed from initial design to completing successful teaming flights, with multiple aircraft testing mission scenarios and shared information while in flight.
A formal welcome into Ghost Bat came from Boeing, with Andy Keough, Saab Australia’s managing director describing it as “an exciting program for the Australian defence sector”.
“We are excited to be part of the Boeing-led team for the MQ-28 program...Saab looks forward to continuing our involvement in the program, collaborating with the Boeing team, and supplying technologically superior solutions for the Australian Defence Force.”
