Roy Morgan has revealed its list for Australia’s most trusted brands for 2024, with Bunnings taking out the top spot.
Bunnings has held the top spot as Australia’s most trusted brand for four consecutive quarters since taking the top spot at the end of last year from the previous leader Woolworths.
Both of the major supermarket chains, Woolworths and Coles slipped by 200 places in the trust rankings compared to a year ago, ranking as the second and third most distrusted brands respectively.
Despite this, it’s not all doom and gloom for supermarket chains as Aldi and IGA have both risen in the rankings to be in the top 15 most trusted brands.
There wasn’t much movement in the top 10, aside from Big W moving up to seventh place and NRMA moving up to eighth at the expense of Myer, who moved down two spots to ninth.
“The top six was remarkably stable in the latest results, with Aldi, Kmart, Toyota, Apple, and Australia Post all unchanged and filling out the top six positions as trusted brands,” Roy Morgan CEO, Michele Levine said.
“A year ago, Bunnings was ranked as Australia’s second most trusted brand – splitting the two major supermarkets Woolworths (first) and Coles (third) on the podium.
“Since then, the two supermarkets have fallen away significantly and are now ranked within the three most distrusted brands – just behind Optus – Australia’s most distrusted brand for a sixth consecutive quarter.”
Notable improvers outside of the top 10 include JB Hi-Fi who moved up one spot to 11th, the Commonwealth Bank moving seven places to 13th and RACQ, which entered the top 20 most trusted brands in 18th.
