Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Western Australian Premier Roger Cook are in Perth announcing a multi-million dollar upgrade to St John of God Midland Public Hospital.
The joint venture will see $355 million worth of upgrades poured into one of the busiest public hospitals for the city, which opened back in 2015 and is located in the key Labor seat of Hasluck.
The announcement will also come alongside an election pitch, with a promise of a further $200 million if re-elected.
The cash injection will look to fund additional beds, including those in ICU and neonatal care, a restructuring of the neonatal and obstetric ward and new operating theatres.
This week marks the true start of the campaign trail for the Federal election, after Albanese called the election date last week, set for 3 May.
Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles is in Melbourne, alongside the Federal Minister for Infrstracture Catherine King, where they have announced a $300 million promise to build a diamond interchange at the busy Calder Park Drive, in the city's north west.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is also up and running today, heading to Newcastle this morning where he is expected to give a press conference.
