The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV has arrived in Australia. It is the first all-electric Mercedes-Maybach, and the first luxury electric SUV in the Australian market.
The SUV features twin electric motors, rear-axle steering, and can charge from 10-80% in just 31 minutes. It can reach 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.
The back seat “rivals that of a first-class jet or high-end spa”, according to Mercedes-Benz.
Its interior includes nappa leather, ambient lighting from 253 LEDs, and internet-enabled touchscreens for passengers.
The optional Executive Rear Seat Package Plus also offers a champagne chiller and massaging calf rests.
“The luxuriously appointed vehicles that define the Mercedes-Maybach heritage have, for the first time, been seamlessly paired with advanced all-electric driving technology and powerful, efficient performance,” said Mercedes-Benz.
The EQS 680 is priced from AU$328,000 before on-road costs. The Night Series vehicle is an additional AU$34,900.
Mercedes-Maybach said on Friday that its new luxury SL 680 sports car will reach Australia in 2026. The SL’s price has not yet been confirmed, though it is expected to exceed the SL 63’s AU$380,000 price tag.
In 2023, Mercedes-Maybach sold 27,900 vehicles globally, a 19% increase over 2022.
Mercedes-Benz Group’s (ETR: MBG) share price closed at EU€57.00 today, down slightly from its previous close at €57.30. Its market cap is EU€84.44 million.
