Forbes Travel Guide has revealed its top 12 destinations for 2025, including regions like the Maldives, the Athens Riviera, and Brisbane.
Travellers are increasingly interested in remote areas and wellness getaways, according to Forbes Travel Guide.
“These trends reflect a growing desire for unique, enriching travel experiences that prioritize personal well-being and connection with nature,” said Forbes Travel Guide vice president Jennifer Kester.
Forbes’ destinations include the Maldives, which hosts wellness-focussed resorts like Joali Being and Velaa Private Island, and Sumba, Indonesia, home of luxury hotel NIHI Sumba and its Wild Wellness program.
The list emphasises sports tourism, spotlighting cities like New Orleans and Brisbane. New Orleans will hold the Super Bowl in February, and Brisbane will host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Forbes also highlights beach destinations, such as the Athens Riviera and Longboat Key, Florida.
Other destinations on the list include Amsterdam, Bhutan, Morocco, and Santa Monica, California.
Forbes Travel Guide launched the first edition of its Verified Air Travel Awards in October. Emirates and Delta were named Best International and Best U.S. Airlines, while Singapore’s Changi and New York City’s LaGuardia took the top prizes for airports.
The guide also released its list of the most anticipated hotel openings of 2025 last month, featuring New York City’s Faena, Corinthia Rome, Dubai’s Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, and Victoria’s Six Senses Burnham Beeches.
