Ferrari has unveiled its new F80 hypercar, which will be produced in a limited run of just 799 cars.
The hypercar can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds, and features a 3.0-litre hybridised V6 engine.
Ferrari’s goal was “to achieve unparalleled levels of power and torque”, the Italian company said.
“The V6-hybrid powertrain of the F80 makes it the most powerful road car ever to come out of the gates of the Ferrari factory.”
The F80’s 860-volt battery pack uses lithium-cell chemistry similar to Ferrari’s Formula One cars. However, it cannot be externally charged, and the F80 cannot drive in electric-only mode.
The chassis is also made of T800 carbon fibre, the same as Ferrari’s Formula One vehicles.
While the Ferrari F80 is priced at US$4 million, all 799 models have now been sold.
The first F80s will be delivered in late 2025. 15-20 cars will be brought to Australia.
The F80 announcement comes after Ferrari’s GTD victory in Saturday’s Petit Le Mans race, secured by Conquest Racing’s Ferrari 296 GT3.
Ferrari’s most recent limited-edition flagship vehicle was the LaFerrari Aperta, produced to commemorate the company’s 70th anniversary. The LaFerrari Aperta was revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, and 210 were made in total.
Ferrari’s (RACE) share price closed at $482.32 today, up from yesterday’s $471.99. Its market cap is US$87 billion.
