Employment Hero has acquired a smaller rival company Humi for CAD$112 million (A$125.35 million).
Australian-founded Employment Hero, a software provider which handles hiring, payroll, will expand into Canada following the deal, as part of its ongoing global expansion.
Humi offers very similar service as a human resources software provider, and was a rival to Employment Hero.
This deal marked the largest acquisition for Employment Hero and overall one of the largest recent deals in Canadian technology.
For almost a decade, Humi has been building employment solutions to help every Canadian employee feel valued, supported, and inspired based on the belief that businesses thrive because they prioritize their people.
The result of partnership will be an all-in-one platform for payroll, HR, and benefits, designed specifically for Canadian businesses, with Employment Hero’s eOS offering a unified platform for managing employment, while Humi tailoring it the Canadian business environment.
Ben Thompson, CEO and co-founder of Employment Hero assured that Humi would remain Canadian operated and that he was excited to enter the partnership.

As a privately held company, Employment Hero has no public stock price.
