Australia’s e-commerce market rose to a record A$82.6 billion in 2025, with spending growing across generational groups and regions.

Roughly 82% of all households in Australia shopped online during the year, with 41% shopping online at least every two weeks.
With buyers shopping online more frequently, the average purchase size dropped 0.4% to $96 last year, and has fallen by $10 since 2020. About 43% of shoppers are willing to pay extra for same-day or next-day delivery, the report found.
Around 28.5% of Millennials’ spending was online, the most of any generational group, for a total of $29.7 billion. All generations reported double-digit percentage growth in online spending.
