Australian shares are expected to open firmer today after a mixed night on Wall Street as technology stocks outperformed.
The SPI futures are pointing to a 65 points or 0.73% gain.
In New York, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indices finished at record highs but the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended lower.
The S&P 500 rose 0.2% and the Nasdaq 1% but the Dow fell 0.3% on Monday (Tuesday AEDT) at the start of a new month of trading after November claimed the title of the best-performing month in 2024 for the Dow up 7.5% and S&P 500 5.7%.
Tech stocks lifted the Nasdaq including Tesla, which rose 3% on an upgraded broker rating, Apple reached a fresh record high, and Super Micro Computer, which surged 29% after a special committee confirmed no evidence of misconduct and accuracy of its financial statements.
The S&P/ASX 200 added 0.1% to 8,447.9 on Monday, near its all-time high of 8,477.1 last Thursday.
In bond markets the 10 year bond yields were 0.005 (0.12%) higher at 4.294% while the two year bond yields were flat at 3.955%.
