Australian shares are poised to extend all-time highs at Tuesday's open, following a record close for the Dow overnight.
ASX futures were up 0.8%, to 8168 by 7 am AEST (9:00 pm GMT), positioning the local market to surpass its record intraday high of 8148 points set last month.
The ASX finished yesterday's session at 8121.6 points, marking its highest closing level on record.
Overnight, the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 added 0.1% and 0.6%, respectively, while the Nasdaq Composite eased 0.5% as investors look toward the Federal Reserve's policy meeting scheduled for Thursday morning (AEST).
The probability of a 50-basis-point cut has surged to 67%, according to CME Futures data.
Conversely, the likelihood of a 25-basis-point cut has dropped to 33%, down from 50% last Friday.
In bond markets, 10-year and 2-year yields were at 3.793% and 3.468%, respectively.
