Airlines and airports reported improved on-time performances worldwide in February, according to CIRIUM.
In February, global flight cancellations dropped 18% with 41,041 flights cancelled compared to 50,110 in January, boosting the amount of on-time flights.
Last month CIRIUM tracked 209,989 flights and found that 86.11% of them arrived on time.
Asia overtook North America for the region with the most flight cancellations in February with 15,367 cancelled. This is still a decrease from the 17,174 cancelled flights in January.
British Airways high rankings in both the global and European charts marked the first time in an extended period of time a U.K. airline ranked in the top 10 most punctual on either list.
Last month, the airline saw 86.89% of its flights arrive on time, an increase from 78.10% in January and 70.12% in December 2024.
The most on-time flight globally was Aeromexico. The airline managed to have 92.87% of flights arrive on time. The airline experienced 3.67% increase in on-time flights from January.
In Asia Pacific, the highest-ranking airline was Cathay Pacific, with 84.96% of its flights arriving on time. Virgin Australia was the third most on-time airline on the Asia Pacific list and the highest-ranking Australian airline, with 82.21% of flights arriving on time.
The large airport with the most on-time flights was Doha Hamad International, with 88.98% of their flights arriving on-time.
For medium airports, Panama City Tocumen International Airport took the title, with 95.10% of its flights arriving on time and for small airports, Rhodes Diagoras International Airport topped the list, with 96.84% of its flights arriving on time.
