A cricket test cap belonging to legendary Sir Donald Bradman has sold at auction for nearly half a million dollars.
The highly recognisable baggy green cap was one worn by Bradman during Australia's1947-1958 test series against India.
Bradman died in 2001 at the age of 92, and is still recognised as cricket's greatest batter after averaging 99.94 across his 52-Test career
At the test series Bradman scored 715 runs in six innings at an average of 178.75, making him the only Australian player to score 100 first-class centuries during the process.
Test cricketers of Bradman's era wore a different cap for each series, different to today's players and this one fetched $479,700, a record for one of his baggy greens.
Bradman's first ever cap from his 1928 debut season, was sold for $450,000 in 2020 and the one he wore on his last tour later in 1948, went for $425,000 in 2003.
