About the Role
The Director, Infrastructure Assurance is at the forefront of the Investor Assurance function of Infrastructure NSW, providing advice directly to the Government on significant infrastructure projects, asset management programs, and developing mitigation measures and tools for the portfolio.
In this dynamic role, you will lead, engage stakeholders, and contribute to the capability development of public sector professionals involved in infrastructure planning and delivery. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the capital infrastructure program and project assurance functions, managing key workstreams, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize service delivery and NSW Government priorities.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leading the development and delivery of built infrastructure assurance functions for programs and projects across agencies/portfolios.
- Delivering high-level reporting and analysis of reviews, including identifying trends, themes, and risks.
- Managing expert reviewer engagement, sourcing additional capabilities, and monitoring reviewer performance.
- Negotiating and collaborating with senior stakeholders, providing expert advice, mitigation measures, and recommendations.
- Ensuring quality, integrity, accuracy, and completeness of information and analysis for high-impact projects affecting state and national economic well-being.
About You
These roles require strong leadership skills to effectively structure and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team in a complex public policy environment.
As Director, Infrastructure Assurance, you will have:
- Proven ability to ensure the successful delivery of major capital projects from initiation to completion, with a focus on accountability, planning, coordination, and control methods.
- Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle, developing risk management frameworks, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to sustain high-level stakeholder engagement, conduct negotiations, and generate positive relationships.
- Excellent negotiation and coaching skills, with the ability to listen, provide direction, and support.
- Significant experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary team, including work allocation, capability development, and performance management.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience.
