Pioneered by the collaboration between Enzo Ferrari and engineer Vittorio Jano, the 246GT Ferrari Dino was Ferrari’s first mid-engined road car. Built as a tribute to Enzo’s late son, Alfredo “Dino” Ferrari, the Dino offers a perfect blend of elegance, performance, and innovation.

Production of the 246GT Dino spanned between 1969 and 1974, with a total of 2,487 cars produced, with 488 delivered to the UK market.

The 246GT boasts a 2.4-liter V6 engine, producing 143kw/195 hp, and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. With its Pininfarina-designed bodywork, the Dino remains an icon of 1970s automotive design and has captured the hearts of collectors and enthusiasts globally.

Chassis #04774 was completed in September 1972, RHD and finished in Bianco Polo Park (20-W-152) with black interior. The car was imported to the UK by Maranello Concessionaries and purchased by Coombs & Sons for £5,036.02 (incl. Tax).

Dated April 21st 2021, documentation provided by Tony Willis of The Maranello Concessionaires Archive confirms chassis #04774 is an original right hand drive delivered to the UK in September 1972. Original engine number: 10181, Gearbox number: 1241, and Body number: 1231 are all retained and present on the vehicle.

Having spent the majority of its life parked up in storage, the car was fully restored by renowned UK Ferrari specialist Nick Cartwright with records showing sums exchanged hands for in excess of £200,000.

The car received a recommissioning in November 2020 for costs circa £8000 by Foskers UK before more work was completed in May 2021. The car was then listed for auction by Silverstone Auctions and sold to John Calleija of Queensland on the 5th June 2021 and subsequently imported to Australia. On the 13th January, 2022 the car arrived via sea to the Port of Brisbane from Southampton, UK.

Once arriving in Australia the car received a $9,000 recommission in Qld before changing hands to the current owner. The car has lived between Sydney and Jindayne whilst being maintained by CSR. We have undertaken a major service, dyno tuned and fitted new Michelin tyres ensuring the car handles and performs like a Dino should.

This beautiful white Dino has been well loved throughout its lifetime, with significant records of work completed to keep the car in great working order and usable. Despite this, the car has only registered 37,363 miles since new! This is a great opportunity to own an original RHD, in great condition and ready to use 246GT Ferrari Dino.
